At present, in the Macbook sold by Apple, we have been chasing the Thunderbolt 4, but we are currently observing the Thunderbolt interface in the USB-C form, only to find that its speed and transmission architecture is still at the level of Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps), not the latest Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3 has not been fully popularized in the market.

It seems that the new technology Thunderbolt 4 currently promoted is mainly used as a gimmick. The actual demand is still the old Thunderbolt 3 product.
Currently, Apple Silicon has huge shipments for Apple products integrates support for Thunderbolt 3 / USB4. As a long-term partner of Apple, Intel shared details about Thunderbolt 4 in July this year.
According to the plan, this feature needs to be implemented with a Tiger Lake processor.
What needs to be pointed out is that even though Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 3 support bandwidth up to 40 Gbps, it still brings some significant improvements, such as supporting a docking station with four downstream Thunderbolt ports.
The following are the Thunderbolt 4 features shared by Intel:
● Double the minimum video/data requirements of Thunderbolt 3;
● Support two 4K or one 8K display;
● Support 32 Gbps PCIe storage, the rate can reach 3000 MB/s;
● Support up to four Thunderbolt 4-port docking stations;
● Support charging on at least one computer port;
● Even if the keyboard and mouse peripherals are connected through the Thunderbolt docking station, the computer can be woken up from sleep;
● Apply Intel VT-d-based Direct Memory Access (DMA) protection to prevent physical DMA attacks.

What’s even better is that Thunderbolt 4 adopts the same plug as USB-C, and the cables are also backward compatible with USB4, Thunderbolt 3, and other USB standards.
Finally, the M1 Mac released by Apple includes a 13-inch MacBookPro / MacBook Air and asynchronously updated Mac mini. It is expected to ship after November 17th in the second half of this year.
After the release of the iPhone 13, it will be the world of tablets!
